Phill Alexander (Oxford, OH) is a professor in Miami University’s Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies focusing on game studies. He teaches courses on digital rhetoric and writing, digital identity, study of esports, and game design. Phill is also the founder and program director of Miami’s esports team, the first team representing a school classified in the NCAA’s Division I level for traditional sports. Despite all these accomplishment, Phill claims his proudest moment was playing the Street Fighter arcade game for eight straight hours on a single quarter.
