The Trouble With Hippos

The trouble with hippos is that they’re unpredictable.

Or at least that is what Tandi discovers one morning on the way to the river to catch fish for the evening meal. As Uncle Moshe keeps reminding Tandi, he is an orphan and an extra mouth to feed. Only his little cousin, Ayanda, is on his side. However, Tandi soon discovers there are kids in even worse trouble than him when he meets Desmond, a runaway prince whose father has been unjustly imprisoned.

Tandi makes a daring plan to rescue Desmond’s father from prison.

Will he succeed?

And if he does, might Desmond’s father adopt him so that Tandi has a real family again?
