Christopher W. Moore, Ph.D., a Partner of CDR Associates, has worked in the fields of collaborative planning, multi-party decision-making and conflict management for over three decades. He is an internationally known mediator, facilitator, dispute systems designer, trainer, and author in the field of conflict management. Moore has provided intermediary and capacity building services in the U.S. and in over thirty-five other countries. He has mediated international, national and local disputes on political, peace accord, interethnic, sustainable development, natural resource, water, land, organizational and labor management issues. Moore has also consulted on the design, implementation and capacity building training programs for dispute resolution systems, which use mediation as a component. He has helped to develop dispute resolution systems to resolve employment, organizational, sustainable development, land and water disputes. Moore was trained as a mediator by the U.S. Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (1979) and the American Arbitration Association (1976), and holds a Ph.D. in political sociology and development from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. He is the author of The Mediation Process: Practical Strategies for Resolving Conflict (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2003 3rd Edition.), co-author of The Handbook of Global and Multicultural Negotiation (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2010) and A Guide to Designing and Implementing Grievance Mechanisms for Development Projects (Washington, D.C.: Office of the Compliance Advisor/Ombudsman, International Finance Corporation, 2008) and numerous other journal articles and manuscripts on conflict management.
