Mark Karlen,  IDEC ASID AIA has been involved in the interior built environment as practitioner, educator, and author for several decades, and currently teaching at Philadelphia University, Pennsylvania. He also leads national courses to help prepare interior designers for the professional licensing exam, and continues his architectural practice. The author’s academic experience includes Chair at the Department of Interior Design at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York,  Dean of the Art & Design Division at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and Graduate Program Manager of the Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design program at Moore College of Art & Design, Philadelphia. Rob Fleming co-founded the Master of Science in Sustainable Design at Phildelphia University, and assumed and is currently the Program Director. Professor Fleming is the author of Design Education for a Sustainable Future, published by Routledge.
