Joan E. Pynes, Tampa FLA, is Professor of Public Administration at the University of South Florida. She is the author most recently of Human Resources Management for Health Care Organizations: A Strategic Approach (2012) published by Jossey-Bass. Joan is a sought-after and prolific contributor to the public and nonprofit academic literature. Her contributions include more than 50 academic journal articles, sole and co-authored books and book chapters, conference papers and reports. She has received nearly half a million dollars in research grants. In addition to teaching at USF, Joan conducts state-based and national training workshops. She is a member of the following professional societies: Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), American Society of Public Administration (ASPA), International Personnel Management Association (IPMA) and Society for HR Management (SHRM).
